“The Training of Trainers Course” was completed successfully at the University of Kyrenia

Organized by the Rectorate of the University of Kyrenia in collaboration with Atatürk Faculty of Education of the Near East University within the frame of the vision of contemporaneousness and development in education and training “The Training of Trainers Course” was completed successfully in a periodic process with the participation of all the faculty members of the Faculty of Maritime Studies and the Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences.

Aimed at providing the faculty members of the Faculty of Maritime Studies and the Faculty of Aviation & Space Sciences of the University of Kyrenia with opportunities to update their current knowledge as well as to identify the needs of contemporary society and generate strategies for education and teaching processes in compliance with the era, “The Training of Trainers Course” was completed successfully. Organized in cooperation by the University of Kyrenia and NEU Atatürk Faculty of Education, the course lasted approximately three weeks. Trainers, who are specialized in their fields, provided detailed information regarding the needs of students in terms of quality in contemporary conditions, society’s current needs and expectations from graduates, social need – oriented approaches and developments in education – teaching methods, and sustainable training for trainers in accordance with current conditions.

Delivering an explanation regarding the issue, University of Kyrenia Board of Trustees Chairman Prof. Dr. Ilkay Salihoğlu touched upon the crucial role of courses in providing opportunities for academics to update their knowledge and discuss contemporary approaches in education. He underlined that the teaching staff, in other words, the trainers, who are one of the basic factors of academic disciplines, were in need of continuous updating their potential as academic disciplines were in a continuous development in the line with the contemporary needs. “In this context, as an indicator of our vision regarding contemporaneousness and planned development in education and teaching, we organized the Training of Trainers Course. I would like to extend my appreciations to the academic staff of NEU Atatürk Faculty of Education as well as the academic staff of the Aviation and Maritime faculties of the University of Kyrenia for their joint efforts and contributions to the developmental process of academic studies and contemporary education. Such kind of courses will be transferred from national level to international level within the frame of planned development”.
