The Exhibition titled as “The Conquest of Cyprus”, which was organized by the Foundation of University of Kyrenia, was opened by the Prime Minister Hüseyin Özgürgün on August, 1st.

Due to the 445th anniversary of the conquest of Cyprus, University of Kyrenia Foundation held an exhibition which tells the story behind the conquest of Cyprus. Titled as “The Conquest of Cyprus: A Story of a Conquest”, the exhibition was opened by the Prime Minister Hüseyin Özgürgün on University of Kyrenia campus on August 1st, 2016.

According to a press statement released by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of University of Kyrenia, the exhibition is held on the campus of University of Kyrenia in Kyrenia Town, and it comprises works related to the conquest of Cyprus, such as original oil paintings, ship models, Ottoman flags, charts and engravings related to Cyprus and Levant, ceramic paintings, replicas of 16th century navigational tools and information boards.Furthermore, the exhibition was expressed also to include the oil painting portraits of Lala Mustafa Paşa, who ruled the Ottoman Army; significant admirals of the Ottoman Navy Piyale Paşa and Kılıç Ali Paşa. The exhibition is said to be open until 30th October, 2016.
