Registration to all departments of the University of Kyrenia has begun for the second semester.

It was revealed that registration to all departments of the University of Kyrenia had begun for the second semester and that all high school graduates, who are citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), could apply for registry by 8th February, 2016.

Students will be able to register to all departments with full or half scholarship grants…

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of University of Kyrenia, all high-school graduates were eligible to register to all departments of University of Kyrenia. Furthermore, it was expressed that applicants needed to present their high-school diplomas, along with their application forms, and that full and half scholarship grants would be given to the applicants.

Having recently given its 6th batch graduates, University of Kyrenia has currently got a total of 1050 students from 37 different countries. Furthermore, on 15th November, 2015, the university has begun functioning at its own campus and since then, the construction of its Faculty of Medicine, University Hospital, alongside other faculty buildings has been ongoing to further develop the university. Moreover, with the approval of the TRNC Ministry of National Education, the University of Kyrenia has applied to TRNC Council of Higher Education (YODAK) and TR Council of Higher Education (YOK) to open a total of 8 faculties and 24 new departments. Additionally, as part of strengthening its academic staff by employing 120 academicians, the University of Kyrenia has declared its job vacancies and with the application of many highly esteemed academicians from America, Europe and Asia, it has begun to strengthen its academic staff. The education and training that the University of Kyrenia facilitates is under the supervision of International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and TR Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication. On the other hand, the aviation and space sciences education which the university provides is at TR Civil-Aviation Department European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards.

Providing further details regarding the University of Kyrenia, it was expressed that the university had completed 2 European Union projects and that currently, it was continuing another EU Project and TÜBİTAK project. Additionally, new initiatives have been made on quality assurance in education. For the accreditation of the programs run by the Faculty of Engineering, an application to ASIN has been made and the relevant works are continuing. As for the accreditation of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the necessary documents have been handed to Foundation for International Business Administration (FIBA). Faculty of Education and English Preparatory School are currently waiting for their accreditation by Edexel. Moreover, the University of Kyrenia is currently expressed to be a member of European Universities Union; World Universities Union; Islamic Countries Universities, and IGIP International Society for Engineering Pedagogy. It has signed protocols with more than ten state and private universities in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and many universities in Moldavia.

It was revealed that the University of Kyrenia had a vision and mission that prioritises research and all works which have the potential to make a contribution to world knowledge and that currently it was ready to receive new students through the applications for the second semester which is due shortly.
