University of Kyrenia, the first and only university of Cyprus and nearby geography on aviation and maritime studies, is going to hold a graduation ceremony and bid the new graduates godspeed to seas, to serve humanity, on 15 June 2015.

According to a press statement released by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of University of Kyrenia, the students graduating from faculties of maritime studies will be conferred upon their diplomas at the graduation ceremony that will take place at TEAL Research and Training Ship in Kyrenia Tourism Harbour, at 18:00 on 15 June 2015. The ceremony will be open to public and press members. The students, after being conferred upon their diplomas, will sail to seas, to join their colleagues serving throughout the seas.

Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu, making a statement regarding the graduation of new sailors, said that the University of Kyrenia having students from over 30 countries have moved the flag inherited from Near East University, the sister university of University Kyrenia, further; today 60 more sailors will join the graduates of Faculty of Maritime Studies who are already serving throughout the world for humanity with a great dedication and loyalty to values they have gained throughout their studies; and the tradition of Near Eastern Sailors will proudly be continued by the sailors of University of Kyrenia with great dedication, dignity and loyalty. Prof. Dr. Salihoğlu also said that he is greeting with deepest respect all those students, teaching staff, administrative staff, and all others who contribute to this glorious tradition with deepest loyalty and devotion.

Parents of students coming from various countries will also attend the graduation ceremony to which all the staff and students of University of Kyrenia, our people and precious members of press are also invited.
