– 16 new Associate, 9 Degree Programs
Near East University, Cyprus, has opened, 16 undergraduate and 9 graduate programs.
According to a press statement released by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, Nicosia, all newly opened departments have been approved and accredited by YOK and YODAK will accept applications of students for 2015-2016 cademic year.
According to the press statement, 6 new departments were opened under the body of NEU Health Services Vocational School. The new departments are Electroneurophysiology Physiotherapy, Veterinary Sciences, Orthopedic Prosthetics and Orthotics, Perfusion Techniques and Pathology Laboratory Techniques. The instruction language of these departments is Turkish and teaching/training period is two years. There are extensive employment opportunities for graduates of these departments as qualified health technicians who provide significant support to doctors are trained at these departments, utilizing all the most up-to-date and advanced medical techniques and life-long learning facilities.
Other associate degree programs opened within the body of the Vocational School include Alternative Energy Resources Technology, Computer-Aided Design and Animation, Foreign Trade, Photography and Videography, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Architectural Restoration, Applied English and Translation, Tourism, Hair Care and Beauty, and Cookery program under the School of Tourism and Hotel Management. Education period of these departments is two years and instruction language is Turkish. Graduates of vocational high schools can directly register to these programs.
9 New Degree Programs…
The new undergraduate programs are Molecular Biology and Genetics (Turkish) under Faculty of Applied Sciences, Social Services (Turkish) under Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Obstetrics (Turkish), Ergotheraphy (Turkish), Emergency Assisstance and Disaster Management (Turkish), Gerontology (Turkish), and Audiology (Turkish) under Faculty of Health Sciences, and Hearing Impaired Teaching (Turkish) under Atatürk Faculty of Education, and Dentistry (English) under the body of Faculty of Dentistry.

Yeter Tabur, General Secretary of NEU, said that the total number of the departments of NEU has reached to 160 and this number is the highest in the nearby geography. Tabur also said that students can register to departments of Health Sciences with their GCE A level ve IGCSE-GCSE O level results and for other departments, can take the Student Placement and Scholarship Exam which will be administered on 6 June 2015.
