Girne Üniversitesi, 13. DEK Toplantısı’nda Temsil Edildi

-Many significant issues were discussed at the 13th Council of Maritime Studies (CMS) which was held in Iskenderun, Turkey.

-University of Kyrenia was represented in Iskenderun with a committee which was at the helm of the Dean of Faculty of Maritime Studies of University of Kyrenia, Mustafa Altunc.

Dean of Faculty of Maritime Studies of University of Kyrenia, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Altunc; Vice Dean, Oceangoing Master Hilmi Sahli; and Department of Deck Oceangoing Master Ugur Temen, represented the University of Kyrenia at the 13th Maritime Studies Commission Meeting which was hosted by Iskenderun Technical University.

In addition to the above, it was revealed that members of the TR Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication; Chamber of Mechanical Engineers; and Chamber of Ship Engine Operating Engineers was also at the meeting.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Altunç: “As the ‘University of Kyrenia, we are seeking perfection in Maritime Education and Training”

Making a statement regarding the commission meeting, Dean of Faculty of Maritime Studies of University of Kyrenia Prof. Dr. Mustafa Altunç provided information on the education and training programs offered by the University of Kyrenia, its infrastructure, and its new campus. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Altunç emphasised that the campus was very close to the sea and that the university had a vision which sought perfection in raising competent individuals. He stressed the most recent technologies were available on the campus for simulations and laboratories relevant to maritime studies. Consequently, he stressed that the University of Kyrenia offered practical training as well as theoretical training to its students as this was rather significant in terms of experience.
