In his remarks, Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Tüzünkan delivered information regarding the issue. “Kyrenia Art Museum, which will come into existence under the roof of an artistic architectural structure, is a concrete indicator that demonstrates how the University of Kyrenia values and supports art. After finalizing restoration, we will convert this traditional Cyprus house to an art museum with art exhibition spaces. Kyrenia Art Museum will be a monumental symbol of a new understanding of museology aiming to convey art heritage to the new generations by preserving, sharing and reproducing it through interaction with its people. We will be able to exhibit the works of all TRNC artists, and all art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to get nested with art” said he. Touching upon the commitment of the University of Kyrenia to adding a surplus value to the development and cultural structure of

the city as well as making Kyrenia an idol city for education, Asst. Prof. Murat Tüzünkan noted: “We have initiated this important cultural project by considering the lack of not having an art museum in an extremely beautiful and touristic city like Kyrenia. Kyrenia Art Museum, where we will exhibit the works that demonstrate the emotional and dream worlds of Turkish Cypriot and worldwide famous artists, will be a cultural center of attraction which will add surplus value to both TRNC artists and art lovers. The tourists visiting Kyrenia will be able to get an idea about Turkish Cypriot art and artists by visiting the museum. The museum that we are going to open will contribute to tourism potential of Kyrenia as well.”
