Inpatient capacity of Hospital of University of Kyrenia has been increased to 200

The inpatient capacity of the Hospital of University of Kyrenia has now been increased with the inclusion of geriatric care to its body. It was revealed that the Hospital of Kyrenia is expected to be fully completed by 2016, and that with the inclusion of geriatric care, the inpatiant capacity of the hospital will be increased to 200.

According to the press info release from the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of University of Kyrenia, the ground breaking ceremony of Hospital of University of Kyrenia was held at the helm of Prime Minister Ömer Kalyoncu on 15th November 2015, along with the attendance of 3rd President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Derviş Eroğlu; Minister of National Education Kemal Dürüst; Minister of Tourism Faiz Sucuoğlu; Minister of Finance Sunat Atun; Chairman of YÖDAK (Higher Education Council) Hüseyin Gökçekuş; Founding Rector of Near East University Suat Günsel; founders of the university, authorities and staff. Furthermore, it was stated that the number of inpatient bed capacity of the Hospital of University o Kyrenia has now been increased to 200 through the inclusion of geriatrics service. Considering that the Hospital of University of Kyrenia was being built in a city full of natural beauties, the geriatric care of the hospital is expected to provide the best of services to the elderly living in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and also make an addition to the country’s health tourism.

It was stated that the Hospital of University of Kyrenia is expected to be fully completed by 2016 and that its priorly stated inpatient capacity, which was expressed to be 150, had now been increased to 200 with the inclusion of geriatric care.

Further to the above, it was stated that the Hospital of University of Kyrenia will also be comprising: Emergency Unit; Forensics; Paedriatrics; Dermatology and Venereal diseases; Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation; Internal Medicine; Pulmonary; Cardiology; Neurology; Nuclear Medicine; Radiology; Psychiatry; Sports Medicine; Medical Genetics; Anaesthesia and Reanimation; Brain and Nerve Surgery; Paedriatric Surgery; General Surgery; Ophthalmology; Gynaecological Diseases; Otorhinolaryngology; Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery; Orthopaedists and Traumatology; Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery; Medical Pathology; Urology; Mouth and Dental Health; and Nutrition and Dietetics. Being aware of the significance of geriatric care, the Hospital of University of Kyrenia will facilitate a capacity of 50 beds for inpatients at geriatric care, aiming to provide the service at international standards. Moreover, it was revealed that the Hospital will also comprise a Check-up Centre; Blood Bank; Haemodialysis Unit; Phytotherapy Centre; Physical Rehabilitation Centre; Laboratories and Operating Theatres to facilitate health services at a very high standard.
